Rainbows Release Blog Hop

Hi there, crafty friends. I’m excited to be part of THIS blog hop celebrating THIS new release from Simon Says Stamp.

I have a few cards to share using embossing folders and alcohol inks…

For all three cards, I embossed each embossing folder using Yupo paper. I applied alcohol ink blending solution on top of the embossed panels and then sprinkled on some Pearl Alcohol Inks. I chose the Pearl Alcohol inks because of the intense shine, but you can use regular alcohol inks too. You can also create alcohol ink panels first and then emboss them with the embossing folders after they are dry. Either way works great.

Once the panels were dry, I sanded off the raised embossing to reveal white. You can make your sanding intense or lighter depending on the pressure. I did a mix on today’s cards.

For the first card…

I used the Wildflower Field embossing folder and Tranquil and Alchemy pearl alcohol inks. For the sentiment I used the thank you die from the 3D card die set.

Here’s a closer look…

For the second card…

I used the Leaf Bundle embossing folder and applied Tranquil and Intrigue Pearl Alcohol Inks on top of the embossed piece. I used the hello die from the 3D card die set for the sentiment. I adhered it to a black circle cut with the Deckle Edge Circle Die and used a tiny heart under it from the Heart Sprinkle Wreath Die. I used some holographic paper to frame the black circle.

For the last card…

I used the Vine Canopy embossing folder and applied Deception and Alchemy on top of the embossed piece. It creates a beautiful orange in the middle. I used the You are Enough die for the sentiment. I die-cut the shadow from black card stock and the words from white.

Here’s a closer look…

I hope this inspires you to use your embossed panels with alcohol ink.

Fabulous cards. Love the new embossing folders. I have never tried embossing Yupo in an ef, but now I want to give it a go. Thanks for the inspiration!
