Howdy, crafty friends. Simon Says Stamp’s newest release is HERE. It’s called, “Rainbows” and it’s fabulous.
Today’s card share features a gatefold design with a vellum belly band…
I started by creating a gate fold card base. I used two side folding A2 card bases and scored the front panel down the center. I folded each side back in opposite directions and adhered the back of the card bases together. I stamped and colored (with Copic Markers) the pattern of the Repeating Rainbows background stamp and cut it down the center to create two panels, one for each side of the gate fold card.
I created a vellum belly band to slide over the card to keep it closed. To create the vellum belly band, I cut a wide strip of vellum and loosely wrapped it around the cad and adhered it to the back. Make sure not to do it so tight because it needs to be removed off easily.
I die-cut the rainbow from the Rainbow Card die from white card stock and colored in four of the rays of the rainbow to match the background. I adhered it to the vellum belly band and stamped a sentiment from the Hello Sunshine stamp set on top of the rays.
When the vellum belly slides off, the gate fold card pops open a bit…
…to reveal a sun image from the Hello Sunshine stamp set.
