Hero Arts Summer 2017 Catalog Blog Hop

Hello there and welcome. I’m honored to be taking part in the Hero Arts Blog Hop celebrating their Summer Catalog. If you haven’t checked out the Summer Catalog yet, you can click HERE and check it out.

THIS set quickly won my heart and I created two cards with it to share today…

I clear heat embossed THIS background stamp on to a piece of blue and teal cardstock. I stamped the puffer fish and birthday hat images on a piece of THIS watercolor cardstock. I used THESE watercolors to color in the images and used THESE coordinating dies to cut them out. I white heat embossed coordinating sentiments from the set. One on a small circle and one on a strip of cardstock. I used Distress ink on the edges of the panel and sentiments to make them pop.

These cards feature a fun technique to stretch your dies and create your own spinner die using your nesting dies. I used two of THESE circle dies and taped them together once they were evenly spaced. I ran it through my die-cut machine and it cut two circle pieces out. I adhered the middle circle down flat to the card base and adhered the center circle with foam tape to match the height of the card base. This creates a track for the image to spin around. There are dies on the market that creates a similar track, but I like that using the infinity dies give you the options of different size tracks…

Click HERE to see the cards in action over on my Instagram. Oh, and see that orange pocket in the picture where I store my dies? Click HERE for a Quick Crafty Tip I’ve shared about that.

I finished off the cards by attaching the fish images to a dime using an adhesive foam circle inside the track. I added some shine to the fish using THIS pen as well as THESE adhesive backed google eyes because everything is better with a google eye, right!? I also added some seaweed to the bottom of each card using the dies in last month’s My Monthly Hero kit.

I created these with kids in mind, but I think it would put a smile on anyone’s face. I hope you give this custom spinner track technique a try.
