Hello there, crafty friends. Happy DieCember! If you’re unfamiliar with DieCember, it’s a month long party hosted by Simon Says Stamp celebrating dies and die-cutting. Today’s card shares features how to use the negative pieces when die cutting.
To create today’s card, I die cut THIS candles die from and A2 piece of black cardstock. I removed the candles image to just leave the negative piece from the die cutting. On a piece of A2 white cardstock, I ink blended a rainbow of distress inks and spritzed THIS on top for some sparkle and shine. I adhered the black piece on top and cut the candle flames from yellow cardstock and adhered them in place. I die cut THIS wish big sentiment from black and white cardstock and adhered it to the center of the candles along with THIS printed sentiment. I finished off the card with a coat of THIS on top the candle flames and a sprinkling of THESE embellishments.
Here’s a closer look…
I also ink blended the same colors of ink on the flap of the envelope and embossed it with THIS embossing folder to tie everything together…
I created another card with the same design but wanted to show a simpler version. I added THIS specialty cardstock behind the black panel instead of ink blending…
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Happy DieCember!
