I started with some pencil boxes that I purchased at Target a few years ago that I had been hoarding. lol I stamped the sentiment from THIS stamp set using black pigment ink and clear embossed it for some shine. I used THESE coordinating dies to cut them out. I also stamped the pencil image from THIS stamp set and colored it with Copic Makers.
I filled the boxes with candy, post it notes, lip balm, and a gift card. You can see that HERE. (It’s my first REEL so please give it some love!) I tied it shut with some black and white twine.
I added a small tag to the back for my son to write the teacher’s name…
I hope this inspires you to add handmade elements to a store bought item to make it extra special.
