Hello, Gorgeous Release Blog Hop

Hello there, crafty friends. I’m thrilled to be part of THIS Blog Hop celebrating THIS new release. I have a card set to share that features pre printed sentiment strip backgrounds…
I’m a big fan of the pre printed sentiments from Simon Says Stamp. They are intended to cut apart and use the sentiments individually, but I decided to keep the panel whole and use as a background.

VIDEO
I’m excited to bring more video content. You can watch the video on how I created these cards HERE or click on the video below…

The sentiment strip panels are printed with toner ink which means they are compatible with foiling. The foiling that I did on these cards are not the foiling that you do with the Glimmer Hot Foil Machine. That is a different process with different foil.

I chose four different colors of Thermoweb’s DecoFoil and laid them on top of the panels (pretty side of the foil facing up) and ran them through my MINC machine inside a carrier sheet. I used my MINC machine but you can also use a laminator.

On top of the foiling, I laid the Stained Glass Cross stencil on top and applied Distress Oxide ink using an ink blending tool. The foil resists the ink. I finished off the design by adding heart embellishments cut from different specialty cardstocks using the Mini Hearts Party Die.

I used the second half of the stencil to ink blend a cross on the inside of the card too to tie everything together…

I hope this inspires you to use the sentiment strip panels as a background and do some foiling and stenciling on top.

Oh my! You are brilliant! I have been thinking I wanted to do a card front covered with sentiments using stamps but wasn’t thrilled at the daunting task of figuring out which stamps to use and the placement, but with the preprinted sentiment sheets it’s so simple. And I already have numerous sets of those SSS sets. Geeze, this is one of those things where I’m thinking “now why didn’t I think of that?” LOL! Love all your beautiful cards, you made a bunch of them! And I love your tips at the end. Always helpful to get insider tips from other crafters. Big thanks Heather 💖

Wow these are all beautiful Heather! I especially love your Easter cards you showed in the video! And what is hilarious is I have some of those sentiment strips and I always saw people foiling the reverse strips, but never realized that the white strips can be foiled also lol! And I just always order the black ones! I definitely want to get some of the white ones and case your card with a stencil that I have in my stash! Such a fantastic design!
