Hi, crafty friends. I’m back today with a few cards I created with THIS new card kit from Simon Says Stamp…
I started by creating the card bases. I started with a 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of white card stock and scored at 2 1/8 inch from each end. I cut the beautiful patterned paper from the kit to a regular A2 size, cut it down the middle, and adhered them to the front panels of each card. I die-cut the metallic papers in the kit with the thanks die that is included as well. I did this several times and adhered the layers together for dimension. I heat embossed a sentiment for the kit’s stamp set using metallic embossing powders and cut them in strips. I also die-cut THIS die from the metallic papers to create some embellishments.
Here’s a closer look…
Like I mentioned earlier, these are gate fold cards that have a unique opening in the center. To make this work, I adhered only the letters t, h, and a on the back of the thanks die-cut and placed it in the center. That way only half of the word is adhered down and is still free to open. I did the same thing with the sentiment strip, but adhered the other side down. This makes it an interlocking opening. Here’s a closer look…
I hope you will give this a try. It’s fun to create cards that are unexpected.
You can find more info. about the kit HERE.
Thanks so much for visiting. Have a great day.
