Simon Says Stamp Celebrate You Blog Hop- Day 2

Hi, crafty friends. Today’s project is part of a blog hop celebrating THIS new release from Simon Says Stamp…

For both cards, I stamped the adorable dog images from THIS stamp set on to pieces of THIS card stock. I chose that particular paper because I colored in the images with THESE markers and the color goes down great on that paper. I masked off the images and added a scene with Distress Oxide inks. I used THIS stencil on the sun rays card and added flicks of water and THIS for some added interest. I added sentiments from THIS stamp set.

So I’m always looking for ways to stretch the use of my coordinating dies. For these cards, I wanted to create a pocket that would hold a gift card. To achieve this, I partially die-cut the top of THESE coordinating dies and slipped an ice cream gift card inside.

For the second card, the opening would not be wide enough so I cut with my trimmer to the left and right of the image creating a wider slit…

I die-cut a couple of THESE tabs and stamped a sentiment from THIS stamp set and adhered them to the gift card with THESE to let the recipient know what to do.

These cards were created for some of the staff at my son’s school for part of an end of the school year gift. I hope this inspires you to stretch the use of your coordinating dies and create gift card pockets.
