Simon Says Stamp Sending Sunshine Release Blog Hop

Hello, crafty friends. I’m taking part in a fun blog hop today to celebrate the Sending Sunshine release from Simon Says Stamp. I created two cards using THIS new background die.

I used THESE markers and scribbled them quickly in rainbow order on a piece of THIS paper. I used a paintbrush with water to blend the colors. After it was dry, I die-cut it using THIS new background die. I also cut the same die from a piece of black card stock.

After running it through my die-cutting machine, the pieces stayed in tact because it’s such an intricate die. I used this to my advantage and covered the front of a top folding note card with adhesive. I laid the black outline piece down on the adhesive and then laid the rainbow piece directly on top. I used THIS tool to poke each piece and push it into place directly into the adhesive.

I was left with a beautiful rainbow background and wanted to make a card with it so I adhered it directly to a piece of black card stock using THIS adhesive.

To finish off the cards, I cut two vellum circles to create a focal point for THESE butterflies to sit on. I cut the butterflies out of white card stock so it wouldn’t compete with the colorful backgrounds. I added THIS fun foam underneath for dimension. I also added a white heat embossed sentiment from THIS new stamp set.

Oh, and I added a couple coats of THIS on top of all the black areas on both cards for some sparkle. Check out that shine…

This is such a beautiful die! I love that you used both the positive and negative pieces to create two cards instead of one. The black glittered cardstock looks fantastic with the rainbow colors of your cards.
