Altenew March Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome. I’m excited and honored to be joining the Altenew Blog Hop celebrating their March release with 7 stencils, 12 ink sprays, 13 colored cardstock and 7 envelopes. I have several projects to share, so let’s dive right in…

These rainbow cards were created with THIS new stencil and three of their new ink sprays…THIS yellow, THIS red, and THIS blue. By using the three primary colors, I created the orange, green, and purple hues.

For this card…

I sprayed through the stencil, overlapping colors to create secondary hues. I used a piece of typing paper as a mask as I worked my way down the pattern. I sprayed heavily to get an artsy look.

For this second card…

I kept all of the ink on the stencil from the first card and sprayed it lightly with water. I flipped it over and used it like a stamp on to my cardstock to create the reverse pattern. One thing I love about these ink sprays is they have a gorgeous shine. Check out the shine on that red….

For the next set of cards…

I applied embossing paste through THIS new stencil. I colored the embossing paste with dye ink and ink sprays. I used THIS stamp set to white heat emboss the giraffe image, the sentiments, and stamp the stars.

For the blue card…

I applied some of THIS ink on to THIS craft sheet. I scooped out some of THIS white embossing paste and applied it to the craft sheet as well. I mixed them together to create a blue paste.

I did the same thing for the green card, but used THIS dye ink…

For the pink card, I used THIS red ink spray to tint the white embossing paste…

One thing to note is a little goes a long way when using these sprays to add color. They have much more pigment to them so you don’t need as much as the dye inks.

For the last card…

I white heat embossed the jellyfish images from THIS stamp set on to a piece of THIS cardstock. I used THIS blue spray ink and THIS red ink to create a purple color. I added water to the blue and purple color to create different hues and used them to apply a wash of color over the embossed images. Even after diluting the color with water, you still get the shine from the metallic shimmer sprays.

Love the way you used the positive and negative space of the stencil for gorgeous backgrounds! And also thank you for showing us how you can use stencils to create multiple cards at once, especially cards in a set!

Previews of the stencils and sprays on these cards. The two cards that stood out for me were the card where you use the stencil more like a stamp to create a very artsy look and the jellyfish card with the mixing of sprays.
