SSS August 2017 Card Kit

Hello, friends. Simon Says Stamp just released a new card kit called, “Together.” You can find it HERE. I created this card using the kit contents…

I started by die-cutting a piece of THIS cardstock using THIS die. Then I cut thin strips of various lengths from the pattern paper included in the kit. I applied adhesive to the top portion of seven strips and adhered them next to each other in the center of the panel. Leaving the remainder of the strips free of adhesive allowed me to do a simple basket weave with the remaining strips. After they were tightly woven, I adhered them down here and there with some strong adhesive.

I finished off the card by die-cutting one of THESE hearts out of white cardstock. I used the Distress Oxide ink to stamp a sentiment from the kit’s stamp set. I cut apart one of the sentiments so I could stamp it vertically instead of horizontally. I can always mount it back together how it was originally intended if I need to. It’s a great way to create a custom greeting.  I used the same heart die set to die-cut a slightly larger heart out of vellum to create a mat for the stamped heart. I mounted the entire piece on to a top folding white note card using fun foam in between to add some dimension.

Again, you can find more information about the kit HERE.

Thanks so much for spending some time with me today. See you soon…
