Today I want to share some cards I created for the Lasting Hearts Card Drive. Lasting Hearts help mothers who have lost a child. The goal is to have doctors give a handmade card and book (“You’re the Mothers of all Mothers” by Angela Miller) to parents who have just lost a child via miscarriage.
Having experienced two miscarriages during my infertility journey, this cause is so special to me and I wanted to participate. Actually, today marks the five year anniversary of when I had my first miscarriage. I thought of both of my sweet babies as I created these cards…
I kept the design the same for each card, but mixed up the colors. I used THIS die to frame in THIS vented heart die. I used patterned papers from THIS and THIS collection for the slits and embossed a coordinating greeting under the heart. I used the coordinating die from the Prayers set and stamped the word on top using a coordinating ink, using the same colors for THIS background. I finished off the card by using THIS on the heart for shine and adding a few enamel dots…
