Share Handmade Kindness Challenge (& a Giveaway)

Hello friends. Happy November! My sweet friend Jennifer McGuire is hosting a challenge all month long over at her blog HERE. It’s about sharing handmade kindness. You can find lots more info. HERE. I had the pleasure of helping her out with this and I’m so very proud of her!
I wanted to kick off the challenge with a few card shares along with a giveaway
Hero Arts has joined in and is selling THIS stamp set in honor of the challenge. A portion of the proceeds will go towards the KIND campaign. Pretty cool, huh? The stamp set is gorgeous. Jennifer collaborated with graphic designers to create this unique set…
Acts of Kindness Stamp Set by Hero Arts can be found HERE
I created three cards using the set…

The first card…

…was so simple to create. I stamped the line of hearts image several times in different colors of Hero Arts ink (all colors are listed in the supply list at the bottom of this post). I stamped the sentiment using THIS ink and heat embossed it using THIS embossing powder. I used the top of THIS die with an embossing pad to add some faux stitching under the sentiment. I die-cut a heart from the images using THIS die and applied THIS ink to it and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder to make it pop. I finished off the card by rounding the corners and adhering the panel to a top folding, black note card.

For the next card…

I mounted the heart images together on an acrylic block and stamped in the same colors repeatedly, creating a rainbow background. I cut a section from the top portion of the card and replaced it with a piece of acetate that I stamped a sentiment on using Staz-On ink. I trimmed out the piece with a few tiny strips of black cardstock and finished the card with some gems and rounded the bottom corners.

For the final card…
I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using THIS die. I stamped the adorable envelope image in the same inks and mounted a few of them with foam tape for some added dimension. I heat embossed a sentiment and mounted the panel on a black note card. For a finishing touch, I added glossy accents to a few of the hearts. Clean and simple.

I also wanted to share that the circle stamp in the set is the perfect size to create an envelope seal….

Beautiful cards! I will be setting up a corner in the local hospital where people can pick up handmade cards for free to be given to their loved ones.

I plan to make several cards to give to co workers. I'm a teacher and the climate for being a teacher right now is tough. So, I thought I could boost my own spirits by sharing thoughts of kindness with my fellow teachers.

Amazing cards showing us the possibilities of this stamp set, Heather! I love them all. Love all the heart motifs! But what really sold me on this set, which I'd never have thought of on my own, is using that little circle sentiment on envelopes – GENIUS! Thanks so much!

I'm making holiday cards for a nursing home in my hometown. A lot of the men and women who live there no longer have family in the area and I'm sure getting a card over the holidays will brighten their day!

I am planning to share hospitality by inviting 1 or 2 couples to dinner each week of the month. First one is Wednesday! Handmade table favors too. Thanks for promoting kindness!

I plan on making and giving cards to the students in my class to give out as random acts of kindness. If we teach our children early how making a friend smile is invaluable we will help prevent the bullying that is becoming so prominent. I LOVE this stamp set!!
