Trifold Teacher Card

Hi, friends. Even though it’s July, it’s not too early to get prepared for the upcoming school year. I’m a BIG fan of spoiling teachers and I want to try and be more prepared this year in having cards ready to give to them often.

Today’s card features a fun Trifold technique using THIS die…

I started by cutting only the front panel of two standard size top folding white note cards with the three sided scalloped die. After closing the card, I trimmed the bottom portion of the card right below the scallops. On the second card, I left a slightly larger gap below the scallops and trimmed off the edge. I adhered the back panels of the card together, creating a trifold opening. This allowed me three sections to decorate. I stamped, colored, and cut apples from THIS stamp set as well as some images from THIS stamp set.

Once you open the first flap, you see this…

When you lift that flap, you see this…

Here’s a closer look at a few of the panels…

For the ink blended backgrounds, I used THIS and THIS distress ink. I inked through an alphabet stencil with the same ink to get a tone on tone look. I also used a strip of the same ink blending for the sentiment on the inside of the card…
I finished off the cards with some patterned paper from THIS pad as well as adding some of THIS to the apples for some shine.
I hope this inspires you to try a trifold card design.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

Very cute heather! Love the fun element that tri fold brings – a bit li,e unwrapping a present. And so bright and cheerful too. The teachers will love them and it must feel good to know you have a bunch ready to give out 😃
