Patterned Paper Die Cuts

Hello there, crafty friends. I don’t know about you but I purchase a lot of patterned paper and end up not using it very much. So, I challenged myself to use up some of my patterned paper not only on the background of today’s cards but the die cuts. I love the results…
To create the first card…
I cut a piece of THIS gingham patterned paper a bit smaller than a mini slimline card and adhered it along the bottom edge, leaving a white border along all three sides. I cut THESE fruit dies from patterned paper and adhered the along the bottom of the card. I added a few leaves and flowers and stamped part of the sentiment on one of the lemons.
When you open the card, the remaining sentiment is revealed along with another lemon die-cut piece. This time I added a smiley face that is included in the die set…

Oh, and I also added some sparkle and shine to the lemon using THIS sparkle pen. It’s hard to photograph but such great shine in real life.

For the second card…

I die-cut THESE strawberries and leaves from pattern paper. I used another piece of that gingham patterned paper for the background and stamped a sentiment from THIS stamp set. I finished off the design with a few of those die-cut flowers as well as a scalloped border.

I hope this has inspired you to create die-cuts using your patterned paper.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
