Recently, I did a major clean out in my studio. I purged many supplies that I didn’t use anymore. However, there were a few things I just couldn’t part with. Remember when die-cut paper was all the rage? (Click HERE to see the papers I used.) I hoarded many papers but never got a chance to use them so I broke them back out to create these three cards…

I used the die-cut paper as a stencil for the backgrounds. I simply smeared some white embossing paste on top of the die-cut paper, let it dry and added peerless watercolors on top. Super easy and I love the effect it gives.

Another great thing about using the die-cut paper as a stencil is it’s size. They are 12×12 sheets, so you can cut up many pieces to fit on cards. I didn’t feel bad about tossing it when I was done because I have many pieces leftover.

Here is a closer look…

The star background is really fun…

I die-cut some label shapes from the same watercolor cardstock to coordinate and stamped different greeting from THIS set. I chose to do multi-ink for a playful look…

I think the flower card is my favorite…

I love the texture….

I hope this inspires you to dig out some of that die-cut paper and use it as a stencil. Don’t have any? I know the Silhouette cuts patterns like this. Have fun playing and experimenting!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I’ll be back soon…
