Hello. Today I want to share a few card ideas for kids. I made these cards for Emily and Xander- two amazing kids who are fighting cancer and could really use a showering of cards. You can read lots more about them and how to send in cards HERE.

When I create cards for kids, I like to include a little something. For these cards, I’m including some monster tattoos. I used a couple of them on the front of the card as part of the design…

I applied the temporary tattoos to a piece of THIS cardstock (I chose this paper since it can withstand the moisture) in the same way I would apply it on skin. I took the plastic cover off, flipped it on to the cardstock, rubbed it well with a bone folder, and applied a baby wipe to the back for a few seconds. After lifting off the backing paper, I let it air dry. It stays a bit sticky, so I applied some of THIS on top. I noticed that it is very delicate on the cardstock, so I applied a layer of glossy accents to cover and protect it. It makes a fun embellishment to the card.

For my second card, I used the same design, just mixed up the colors for a girl card…

I chose THIS, THIS, and THIS paper pad to add bold color to the cards and THIS die to add some awesome tiny hearts that I used for embellishments. THIS greeting worked perfectly with the monster images.

Here is a peek at the inside of the cards. I included some tattoos for the kids and placed them in some adhesive backed plastic pockets…

Just like the tattoo cards I shared in this post, I like to include a little something for fun. I clear heat embossed patterns on some butterflies on the front of the card so the child could use the watercolor set included to paint them and discover the fun resist technique…
