Hello, crafty friends. Today’s post is a bit different than usual. I’m going to be highlighting five of my favorite finishing touches that I add to my cards. The card I am sharing today features all five…

#1 Obsidian Black Ink

I’ve been using
THIS obsidian black ink for awhile now and I love it. It stamps crisp and is super dark. Since it’s a pigment ink, it’s perfect for heat embossing since it stays wet longer. I like to add clear embossing on top to give a bit of shine like the sentiment on today’s card.

#2 Aqua Shimmer Pen

THIS pen is my favorite way to add some sparkle. I like to add it to color images to make them pop. I added it to all of the makeup images on today’s card as well as the black strips of paper to give a faux glitter paper look.

#3 Tonic Glaze

I like to use
THIS glaze to give clear dimension to my stamped images. It is very similar to glossy accents, but I like the glaze better because I haven’t had any issues with clogging and I like the way it dispenses. It seems to flow out easier and I have better control with the bottle shape. I added it to the makeup images on today’s card.

#4 Black Glaze Pen

I use
THIS pen on almost every project. I used it to add some black shine to the mascara brush on today’s project. I like to add it to the details to lots of stamped images, including critter’s eyes. It really makes a big difference and makes the images pop.

#5 Black Card Stock

Adding a small amount of black card stock makes the other colors on your project really stand out. I like to use it in small strips, like on today’s example, to draw your eye in.
THIS black card stock is my favorite because it is very dark and heavyweight.

The best part of all these finishing touches is they have a low price point. You get a lot of bang for your buck.

P.S. The card was created for my niece who turned 16, so there is a gift inside…

I hope this has inspired you to try some of these finishing touches on your next card project.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
