Hello, crafty friends. I have some gatefold cards to share today…

To create these cards, I started with the card base. I started with a half of sheet of cardstock (5.5 x 8.5). I scored each side at 2 1/8 inches to create two hinges. I cut THIS die from a light colored of cardstock and then I embossed it with THIS mat in my die cut machine to make an impression of the die to adhere behind the die cut panel. The embossing raises the heart images and fills in the heart images. I cut it in half and adhered the pieces on top of the two flaps. I white heat embossed a sentiment from THIS stamp set and die cut it with THIS heart. I also die cut a larger heart from the same set form vellum to layer behind. I adhered the heart to one side of the flap so it would open freely.

Here’s a closer look at each card. I stamped the matching envelope with a heart form THIS stamp set…

I die cut THIS die from the light colors of cardstock and adhered them inside each card where the recipient can write a message…

I hope this inspires you to create a gatefold card.
