Hi there, crafty friends. I have two cards to share today as part of THIS fun celebration of my sweet friend’s 20th year of blogging and sharing crafty inspiration…

If you’re unfamiliar with Jenn Shurkus, you have to go check out her website HERE. Not only does she share a ton of amazing crafty inspiration but she also sells crafty gear HERE and offers classes HERE. She is one of the hardest working crafters out there and the best part about Jenn is her kindness. I’ve experienced her kindness and support on numerous occasion and she is one of a kind.
So, I was supposed to pick one project that of Jenn’s that inspired me and make something from that inspiration. I couldn’t pick one so I created cards with one main thing that inspires me with Jenn. Her use of Distress inks. She offers several classes on this and I”m always in awe. I attempted a few backgrounds for my cards using Distress Oxide Inks. I pounced the ink on one of THESE mats, spritzed with water and picked up the ink with THIS watercolor cardstock. I would dry the panel and then dip the backgrounds back in the remaining ink for more layered texture like Jenn does…

For the first card…

I used Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries, Carved Pumpkin, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks for my background. I stamped THIS sentiment at the top of the background. Next, I die cut THIS die from silver matte cardstock. I cut the wheel part of the ferris wheel six times. I wanted the wheel to spin, so I die cut a circle from the center of each wheel and adhered them together. I adhered a button to the top of the stand of the ferris wheel. I placed the wheel piece on top of the button. I did not put any glue on the wheel piece so it would spin freely. I die cut a circle a bit bigger than the opening I created for the button and adhered the circle die on top of the button only. Nothing is adhered to the wheel piece. I adhere the buckets on the wheel that were colored with same Distress Oxide inks. I also added one of THESE heart dies in the center with some glossy accents for shine.
YOU CAN SEE IT IN ACTION HERE. (Swipe on the Instagram post to see the video)

For the second card…

I used Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch, and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks. I stamped a sentiment from THIS stamp set at the top of the background. I repeated the same process as the first card to make a moving ferris wheel. I used one of THESE star dies for the center.
I also embossed the flap of the envelopes. For the first card, I used THIS embossing folder.

For the second card, I used THIS embossing folder…

Overall, I was trying to incorporate Jenn’s inky, fun style. Cards that make you happy.
Congratulations Jenn on 20 years of inspiring this community!
