Hello there, crafty friends. I’m excited to be a part of Michelle Lupton’s Case Me A Christmas Card series.

This year is a bit different as we are CASEing crafty friends. There is an instagram hop HERE.
I was inspired by THESE cards from Iliana Crouse. Here is my take. I created two cards with a similar design…

To create these cards, I started by cutting strips of colored cardstock in various sizes. I cut down a piece of thin, typing paper to be A2 sized. I covered it with THIS adhesive sheet and laid the strips on a diagonal until the panel was completely covered. I used THIS die to cut a scalloped rectangle from it.
For the first card…

I embossed it with THIS embossing folder (as well as the flap of the envelope). Before embossing, I inked up the side of the embossing folder that was flat with white pigment ink. This gives the background a softer look so the raised embossing will stand out more. I spritzed it heavily with THIS for some sparkle and shine.

After the panel was dry, I added two more scalloped rectangle pieces to adhere behind to give it some dimension and stability since I used thin paper. I adhered the piece to a white notecard. I stamped THIS sentiment in dark gray and used THESE coordinating dies to cut it out. I adhered it to the card along with some of THESE sequins.

I had so much fun creating this card that I created a another one with the same design but with a different embossing folder and sentiment…

Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!
