Happy Camper Release Blog Hop-Day 2

Hi there, crafty friends. Today’s cards are part of THIS Blog Hop celebrating THIS new release…

I love cover plate dies because you can stretch one background to create two cards! To create these cards, I started by ink blending a panel of THIS watercolor cardstock with Distresss Oxide inks. I spritzed it with THIS spray for some sparkle and texture. After it was completely dry, I die cut the panel using THIS die.

For the first card…

When the die came out of the die cut machine, I made sure not to pop out the pieces yet. While the die cut was in the die still, I added one of THESE foam squares to the back of each die cut shape. I did not add any adhesive to the border/outline die cut. I removed the release paper from the squares and laid the whole piece on top of an A2 sized piece of white cardstock. I pushed on each die cut shape and then gently removed the die with the border, leaving just the inner pieces on the panel.

For the second card…

I used the leftover piece to create a shaker card. I cut five more of the die cut shape from white cardstock and adhered them on top of each other onto a top folding white note card. This creates wells for the shaker bits to go inside. Once those bits were inside, I adhered a piece of acetate on top and then the final inked die cut piece on top of that.

To finish these cards, I added THIS stamped sentiment and used THIS coordinating die to cut it out. I added a sub sentiment from THIS stamp set.

Also, I embossed the flap of each envelope with THIS embossing folder.

I hope this inspires you to create two cards from one background.
