Happy Summer Jeep Cards

Hello, crafty friends. Today’s cards are the cards I created for Aiden’s teachers for the end of the school year. These cards are all about specialty cardsock and how much interest they can bring to your cards and bring to life your die cutting.

Random fun fact about me…My first car was a Jeep Wrangler. I still have it and we use it every summer for joy rides and date nights. It always reminds me of summer so I thought it would be perfect for cards celebrating summer.

To create these cards, I started by applying Distress Oxide Inks through THIS stencil. On a few cards, I did all yellows and for the others, I did more of sunset colors. I spritzed each stenciled panels with THIS shimmer spray for some sparkle and shine. Next, I cut black cardstock pieces into triangles to resemble a road. I adhered them down on a strip of gray cardstock along the bottom of the card. I white heat embossed the “Happy Summer” sentiment along the bottom of the road.

For the Jeeps, I used an older Jeep die from Erin Lee Creative and cut them from THIS cardstock. I used THIS cardstock for the windows and details. I used THIS specialty cardstock for the tires. I added THESE adorable tiny duck embellishments in the windows since many jeeps have ducks on the dashboard. 🙂

Here’s a closer look at the jeeps and all the shine and interest that the specialty cardstocks add…
I paired these cards up with THESE envelopes because they remind me of a sunset…

I hope this inspires you to use specialty papers on your next die cutting project.

Thanks for joining me today. Happy Summer!
