You Are My Favorite Release

Hello there, crafty friends. Today’s card features THIS new release from Simon Says Stamp…

To create this card, I started by stamping THIS large floral image using black ink on white cardstock. I applied Distress Oxide inks through THESE stencils to color in the image. I used THIS coordinating die to cut it out. I stamped the sentiment from the same set, used the coordinating die to cut it out, and adhered it to the center of the flowers.

Next, I created the gatefold card base. To create a gatefold card, you start with a piece of cardstock measuring 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches. Score at 2 1/8 inch from each end and fold those panels in. On a piece piece of A2 cardstock, I dry embossed THIS stencil pattern using THIS embossing mat in my die cut machine  and then spritzed it heavily with THIS shimmer spray. It’s hard to see in the photograph but it gives so much texture. I cut that panel down the middle and adhered the two pieces to the front flaps. I adhered the large floral image piece to the left flap only. Make sure to adhere your piece to only one side so you don’t glue your card shut…

When the recipient opens the front…

A yellow stamped panel is inside. I used stamped the butterfly image from the same stamp set in yellow ink for a tone on tone look. This is where I will write my personal message to the recipient…

I just love how you can quickly add color to this large floral image with the coordinating stencils…

I also stamped the flap of the envelope with the same floral image but used a purple ink for a monochromatic look…

I hope this inspires you to create a gatefold card. This design would be great with any larger image.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
