Sweet Wishes Release Blog Hop

Hi there, crafty friends. I have two Birthday cards to share today as part of THIS Blog Hop celebrating THIS new release…

Both of these cards are similar in design but wanted to share the different looks you can get with the different products. For the first card…

I applied ink through THESE layering stencils to create a birthday cake image. On the sprinkle layer, I applied THIS white paste to add some dimension. I love how the white paste soaks up that color of Distress Oxide ink and turned it a light purple. After it was dry, I used THESE dies to cut it out. I adhered it to a background that I foiled using THIS paste through THIS stencil. After the paste was dry, I ran it through my MINC machine with THIS Deco Foil. The heat transfers the foil to the paste and gives great shine…

I finished it off by adhering everything down to a pink A2 panel and added that to a top folding white note card. I stamped THIS sentiment in black and used THESE dies to cut it out.

For the second card…

I used THESE dies to create a cake instead of using the stencil. I did apply ink through the stencil for the cake plate, the dimension on the cake and icing, and sprinkles but everything else was the dies. I adhered it down to one of THESE Foil Transfer cards that I added THIS purple foil to with my MINC machine.

These cards give you the same foil look but without the dimension of the paste…

I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set I used on the first card and added all the pieces to a purple A2 panel that I added to a top folded card.

Both options are great but wanted to show you a comparison between the dies and stencil. The dies provide opportunity for more dimension as you can layer them up like I did. However, if you like less bulk, the stencils are a great choice. I love when companies give multiple options for the same product concept.

I also decorated the envelope. I applied ink through THESE layering stencils on the flap of the envelope to tie everything together with the party theme…

So what’s your favorite!? The stencil card or the die card?
