Hello there, crafty friends. Today’s card features THESE new colors of Distress Spritz. I used them to enhance Distress Oxide ink blended backgrounds and highlight embossed backgrounds.
For all of the cards, I started by ink blending a panel of white cardstock with Distress Oxide inks. I started with a light shade of the card and applied a darker color of the same shade around it for some variation. Next, I spritzed it with a coordinating Distress Spritz color. I embossed each panel with a different embossing folder. I added images stamped with THIS stamp set and cut with THESE coordinating dies. I colored them with Copic Markers. I also added THIS glossy accents on top to add some shine. I adhered them down with one of THESE action wobblers so they would dance and move. I finished it off with a sentiment from the same stamp set. I I also trimmed a quarter inch off the bottom of the panel and the card base to adhere a small black glossy strip of cardstock sprayed with the same Distress Spritz.
For the first card…
I ink blended with Carved Pumpkin and Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide Inks and embossed it with THIS embossing folder. I spritzed it with THIS Distress Spritz.
Here’s a closer look…
For the second card…
I ink blended with Dusty Concord and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks and embossed it with THIS embossing folder. I spritzed it with THIS Distress Spritz.
For the next card…
I ink blended with Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Inks and embossed it with THIS embossing folder. I spritzed it with THIS Distress Spritz.
For the final card…
I ink blended with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Inks and embossed it with THIS embossing folder. I spritzed it with THIS Distress Spritz.
As I mentioned above, I spritzed a small strip of THIS black glossy cardstock with the same Distress Spritz. It dries well on the slick surface and is very vibrant…
Cutting the strip off the front panel of the card gives a fun opening where the black strip is adhered to the inside of the card…
I hope this inspires you to add some shimmer and shine on top of your ink blending to enhance and elevate your background.
