Hello there, crafty friends. Today’s cards were inspired by the last day of THIS Embossing Folder class from Online Card Classes where Jennifer McGuire taught a lesson on embossing folders and gelli plates…
I love this technique as it creates two cards from one technique. For each set of cards, I would ink up THIS gelli plate with Distress Oxide inks, press the embossing folder on top of the gelli plate into the ink and then remove. I place a piece of white cardstock on top of the gelli plate and use brayer to transfer the ink, making a print of the design. It gives such a unique finish. For the second background, I ran the ink that was left on the embossing folder through my die cut machine with a piece of white cardstock. It gives a reverse design of the first image. I love this technique so much so I made three sets of cards!
For the first set…
I used THIS embossing folder. Here is the first print using the gelli plate…
I used THIS and THIS stamp set for all the sentiments on today’s cards. I adhered the gelli prints on 5×7 card bases and used THESE frames to keep the focus on the sentiment…
Here’s a look at the print using the ink left over in the embossing folder…
For the next set…
I used THIS embossing folder. Here is the gelli plate print…
I embellished the card with THESE stars cut from glitter cardstock.
For the final set…
I used THIS embossing folder. Here is the gelli plate print…
I used THESE dies as a frame for the sentiment.
Here is the print from the ink left on the embossing folder…
It’s hard to see in the photo, but I spritzed THIS on all the backgrounds for some sparkle and shine…
Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope this inspires you to stretch the use of your embossing folders.
