Choosing Color Combos for Card Making + VIDEO

Hello, crafty friends. Today’s cards are all about how I choose color combos for my cards…

VIDEO
You can watch the video on how I created these cards HERE or click on the video below…

To create these cards, I stamped and embossed THIS heart image several times. I did a couple with gold heat embossing, silver heat embossing, white heat embossing, and clear heat embossing over black pigment ink. I used THESE layering stencils to add color to the image. I used THIS color cube to help me choose the color combos. I LOVE using this color cube as it takes all the guess work on which colors to pick as well as gives me combos I would never think to put together. I give a closer look at the Color Cube and talk more about this in the video above.

I stamped all of the backgrounds with THIS text background stamp using a coordinating ink for a tone on tone look. I die cut THIS rectangle piece to adhere on top of the background, then the heart, and finally a printed sentiment strip along with some of THESE die cut hearts.

I also stamped each envelope flap with THIS backgound stamp to tie everything together.

Here’s a closer look at each card…

Hi Heather! I just saw your video today, posted on Simon Says Stamp. I fell in love with the font from the Elegant Modern stamp set but then watched your attached video and what a surprise! I’d heard of Sarah Clark from Jennifer McGuire awhile ago but the color cubes you shared are amazing. And so are your cards! I’m in love with the color combos you chose! I ordered both volumes today and can’t wait for the mail to arrive. Thank you for sharing your tips, beautiful cards and the Color Cubes‼️😊
