Coloring Stamps with Distress Watercolor Pencils

Hi, crafty friends. I have a card set to share today featuring coloring a stamp with Distress Watercolor Pencils and spritzing with water for a faux watercolor look…

To create these cards, I started by spritzing the large butterfly image from THIS stamp set with water inside my MISTI. I used THESE Distress Watercolor Pencils to color the image. I was going for an “artsy” watercolor look so I spritzed the image again with water and stamped. I did this multiple times to get different looks. I also stamped a second time in one pass to get the second generation stamping of the first image.

I ink blended the edges with Kitsch Flaming Distress Oxide ink and spritzed water on top for some added texture and interest. I finished off the card by stamping sentiments from THIS same stamp set in black. I kept these cards simple and didn’t add any embellishments to keep them one layer cards.

Here’s a closer look at each card. I love how each one is different…

I hope this inspires you to use your Distress Watercolor Pencils on your next project.

Thank you for visiting today. Happy crafting!
