Howdy, crafty friends. Today’s cards are part of THIS fun blog hop celebrating THIS new release…
VIDEO
You can watch the video on how I created these cards HERE or click on the video below…
I started by die-cutting THIS heart chain die several times from colored cardstock. I chose to go with a rainbow pattern because that’s my jam, but you could use any colors you want. I think specialty cardstocks would be great for this too.
For the first card, I adhered the outer part of the chain border die first. Starting with pink and working my way down the card to blue. Next, I adhered the center part of each heart inside the openings. Then, I went back and adhered two more layers of the outer portion of the die to add lots of dimension.
I stamped a sentiment from THIS stamp set in black and used THIS coordinating die to cut it out. I adhered it on top of the die cuts as well as one of THESE sentiment strips…
I had a lot of die cut hearts left over from my first card, so I used them to create a second card…
To get all of the hearts lined up, I temporarily taped the outer portion of the die to a black background. I used this for spacing and lining up the hearts. I adhered hearts in the openings. In some openings, I adhered two. On others, I did three. Some I did one. I just mixed it up to create different levels of dimension.
I repeated the process working my way down the card. I spritzed it with THIS shimmer spray for some shine…
I finished it off with a sentiment from the same stamp set and sentiment strip.
I also stamped THIS background stamp on the flap of each envelope to tie everything together…

Dear Heather – You used some of the same products that caught my eye. I love that Heart Chain die and now I am kicking myself for not getting it as part of my order. I have a LF die that is very similar but I think (now) that they’re different enough that I ought to have gotten this one. Ah, well.. there is always my next order LOL. I love the big red rubber concentric hearts stamp, too. Your cards made w/ it are awesome. Finally, that printmaking set. I was intimidated by that and now I am seeing how fantastic it is. Thanks for displaying these fabulous projects!
