Happy DieCember, crafty friends! If you’re unfamiliar with DieCember, it’s a month long party hosted by Simon Says Stamp celebrating dies and die-cutting. Today’s project features a few ways to use a die…
I started by creating the background. I did some hot foiling on glossy black cardstock using THIS opaque white glimmer foil along with THIS cover plate die. I shared a previous video HERE that goes into more detail on hot foiling as well as hot foiling on glossy black cardstock. I adhered the hot foil background to the front of a side folding white notecard.
I die-cut the shadow die from THIS wine glass die twice from the background, creating windows. I die-cut the remaining pieces from the same die from metallic silver cardstock as well as THIS new luxe glitter cardstock. I cut several more layers from white to adhere behind to sandwich the vellum in between.
Having all those layers created a perfect spot to add some shaker bits and create some “bubbles”. It’s hard to see in the photograph, but so cool in real life…
I die-cut THIS cheers die from silver and black glossy cardstock and inlaid the layers. I adhered it to the front of the card along with a sentiment strip from THIS pack.
Here’s a closer look at the inside of the card along with the die-cut window…
I hope this has inspired you to use your dies to…
*Hot Foil with them like I did for the background.
*Create windows in the front of the card.
*Create shaker elements.
I also used THIS envelope die from THIS specialty cardstock to create a matching envelope…
I shared more information about the envelope die HERE.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy DieCember!
