Positive and Negative Hot Foiling

Hello, crafty friends. Today’s cards feature positive and negative hot foiling…

I have a video HERE that explains all about hot foiling and how to create positive and negative pieces. For this first card, I foiled THIS plate using gold glimmer foil. I masked off each stripe and ink blended with a different color of ink. I added THIS miss you die cut as well as printed sentiments from THIS sentiment pack. I finished it off with some heart embellishments…

I did the exact same process for the second card but used the reverse foiling. When you do any foiling, you will have a piece left over. You can use THIS hot foil plate to get a reverse foiled image. Again, you can watch THIS video for more information. I used the same design but with THIS die cut sentiment and THESE sentiment strips. I used THIS die to create the star embellishments.

Any foil project is very hard to photograph. The shine in real life is gorgeous!

I hope this inspires you to try positive and negative hot foiling and to use the same design layout for multiple cards.

Thank you so much for spending some time here today. Have a great day!
