Coloring Die Cuts with Alcohol Ink

Hi there, crafty friends. Today’s card features coloring die cuts with alcohol ink…

I stared by die-cutting the butterflies from the Graceful Butterfly Set from white Yupo paper. I put them inside the coordinating embossing folder from the set and embossed them to add some texture. I added some rubbing alcohol to the die-cuts and then applied alcohol ink on top. I mixed in a bit of pearl alcohol ink for some sparkle and shine.

For the background, I wanted it to be white so the butterflies would pop, but wanted some texture. I cut the Detail Tapestry Plate from an A2 piece of white  cardstock. I layered the — dies on top and I love how the pierced dots show through the openings. I adhered the butterflies on top and added a pre printed sentiment strip on top of the pink butterfly. I finished off the card by die-cutting hearts from the Mini Hearts Party Die using black glossy cardstock and adding crystal glaze on top for some shine.

Here’s a closer look…

I hope this inspires you to color your die-cuts using alcohol ink.
