Hot Foiling on Alcohol Inked Panels Part Two

Howdy, crafty friends. I recently shared THESE cards where I hot foiled on alcohol inked panels and I was having so much fun with the technique that I decided to create another set but this time with a larger, cover hot foil plate…

First, I created the alcohol inked panels. I applied Rubbing Alcohol on four panels of Yupo paper. I added rows of color using alcohol ink and let the color blend by tilting the piece. Once it was completely dry, I hot foiled the Intricate Floral Background Hot Foil Plate on top using Prism Glimmer Hot Foil.

I die-cut the Big Thanks die from holographic paper and black cardstock and finished off the sentiment with a pre printed sentiment strip…

The Prism glimmer hot foil is so pretty…

Here’s a closer look…

I hope this has inspired you to do hot foiling on top of alcohol inked backgrounds.

Thank you for visiting. Happy crafting!

Gorgeous cards….I didn’t think foiling on Yupo was even possible…thanks for the inspiration and opening all kinds of possibilities!

I just love the combined look of the alcohol inks and foil you’ve done. So different and beautiful!
Do you know if there’s any way to get the same effect, without using the hot foil system? I don’t have them and can’t afford to invest in another ‘system’ right now (machine, plates, foil, etc), but would love to try it another way. Any suggestions?

      Hi, Sheri.

Thank you for the kind words. You can get a similar look by heat embossing on top of an alcohol ink panel. However, I suggest using Heavyweight Yupo and keep your heat gun moving as you don’t want to apply to much heat to the Yupo since it’s plastic and will warp easily. Happy crafting! 🙂
