Sweet Birds Card

Howdy, crafty friends. I’m back with more inspiration using THIS new release from Simon Says Stamp. The Sweet Birds stamp set was one of my favorites from the release and I used it to create this card…

To create this card, I die-cut the largest die from the Rounded Corners die set from blue and red cardstock. I trimmed down the red rectangle and adhered it to the bottom of the blue one to create the background. I die-cut the next smallest rectangle from the die set from white cardstock and stamped the layers of the bird from the Sweet Birds stamp set as well as the branch from the same stamp set. I stamped the branch on a piece of masking paper, used the coordinating die to cut it out, and placed it on top of the stamped branch. I also used the coordinating dies to cut out the bird as well as a few more shapes to adhere behind the bird for dimension.

I applied ink through the Tin Tile stencil on top of the piece with the bird opening and the masked branch. I adhered that piece to the background and added the sentiment from the Delicate Floral Frames stamp set. I adhered the bird in place along with the leaves from the Sweet Birds stamp set. I finished off the design with a few die-cut hearts from the Mini Hearts Party die. I wanted this to be a shaped card, so I die-cut another blue rounded corners panel and scored the top of it. I added strong adhesive above the scored line and adhered it to the decorated panel, creating a card base.

I also embossed the Stitching Floral Heart die on the flap of a red envelope. I used an embossing mat in my die-cut machine with the die to make an impression of the die instead of cutting it….
Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day.
