Christmas Gatefold Cards

Hello, crafty friends. I’m always looking for ways to make gift cards more special. Today, I have four gatefold cards to share that also hold gift cards…For the main die-cuts, I used the November My Monthly Hero Card Kit. It sold out fast but you could substitute those for another die-cut image or even a stamped piece. Today’s focus is more about the design.

To create these cards, I created four gate fold card bases. To create a gatefold card base, I cut a piece of 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock in half and scored each end at 2.25 inches. I cut four panels of A2 sized colored cardstock and added a pattern to it using a stencil and ink. I cut each panel in half and adhered the pieces to each side of the gatefold card base. I used the same stencil on the coordinating envelopes to tie everything together.

For the first card…I used the Holiday Foliage Stencil. On the inside of each card, I die-cut a gift card tag pocket and cut off the tag portion. I rounded the top two corners for a finished look. I created a custom sentiment by combining a few stamp sets…Chunky Christmas, XL Christmas Greetings, and Holiday Greetings.

For the second card, I used the Peace Joy Hope stencil…

Here’s a closer look at how the gatefold cards open…

I did the same process for each of the gift card pockets inside each card….

For the third card, I used the Holiday Boho Circle stencil…

For the last card, I used the Just Trees stencil…

I hope this inspired you to create a gatefold card for something fun and unexpected.
