Peace on Earth Release Blog Hop

Hello, crafty friends. I’m excited to be part of THIS Blog Hop celebrating THIS new release from Simon Says Stamp. I used a few of the new goodies to create this card and matching envelope…

I stamped the front of a top folding white note card with the Mountainscape Background stamp using gray ink. I added a strip of gray cardstock along the bottom to resemble a road. I die-cut the Vintage Christmas Station Wagon Die from red and silver card stock. I die-cut the tree from green card stock and tied string around it to attach it to the car roof. I stamped a sentiment from the XL Christmas greetings stamp set and used the coordinating die to emboss around it. It’s hard to photograph but it helps make the sentiment stand out. I finished off the design with a few hearts that were cut using the Mini Hearts Party Die. I added a coat of crystal glaze on top for some shine.

Here’s a closer look…

I also decorated the envelope. I added a post-it note to the center of the front of the envelope. I used it for a mask and inked up the Just Trees Stencil around it using green ink.

The masked off area is a perfect place to write the recipient’s address.

Hi, Heather – Love the retro vehicle on card #1. I considered ordering that but I have a lot of vehicles already. I love the birds set, but I could not justify almost $80 for the dies, too, and making Xmas cards does not allow me the time to fussy cut. But I love your card with the colorful birds and lovely sentiment. I think my favorite is the “my gourd” card –colors are perfect and I love how you set it up. TFS!!
