Ink Blot Shop October 2021 Release

Howdy, crafty friends. Ink Blot Shop has a brand new release HERE and I’ve made a few projects with some of the new goodies.

First up is the rainbow card…

I started by stamping the Starry Sprinkle Background using white pigment ink on to a kraft panel. Next, I stamped the adorable rainbow image from the Giant Rainbow stamp set and cut it out. I used that piece to trace the outline shape on a few other pieces of white cardstock. I used the Giant Rainbow stencil to add color to the rainbow and stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set on one of the clouds.

I wanted the card to have a unique place to write a message so I made the rainbow open…

To do this, I cut two small strips of acetate. I adhered them to the top of the back of the colored rainbow and then to the back of a solid white piece I cut. This creates a clear hinge that allows the image to open. I used an additional white rainbow shape pieces I cut to adhere to the back of the colored rainbow to hide the adhesive of the clear hinges. I also stamped the envelope flap with the same background stamp to tie everything together.

Also, the ink blot shop just released some pens. They have multiple colors and they are so cute…

For the next card…

I created a gate fold card. To do so, I started with a piece of 5 1/2  x 8 1/2 piece of white card stock and scored at 2 1/8 of an inch from both sides. I stamped the Checkerboard Background using black ink on a A2 white panel. I cut the panel down the middle and adhered the two pieces on the flaps. Next, I stamped the bursts from the Superhero Bursts stamp set and used the Superhero Bursts stencils to color them in. I stamped the sentiments from the same stamp set and fussy cut them out. I adhered them on the flaps but only on one side. You don’t want to adhere your card shut. I love the unique opening it gives…

When it opens, there is another burst to complete the sentiment…

For the inside burst, I stamped a sentiment from the Arts & Crafts Icon Stamp Set. I also stamped the star border from the Envelope Mail Art Stamp Set on the envelope to tie everything together.

I also have a Christmas card to share…

I started by stamping the gift border image from the Envelope Mail Art Stamp Set using black ink on a white mini slimline card. I applied a rainbow of Distress Ink on a piece of acetate that was the same size of the card. I spritzed it with water and laid it on top of the stamped background. I love the texture and the watercolor look it gives when I removed the acetate…

For the sentiment, I white heat embossed one of the sentiments from the Mixed Holiday Greeting Stamp Set on a strip of black cardstock. I finished off the design by rounding the two right side corners of the card.

Thank you so much for visiting today. I would love to hear which card that I shared today was your favorite.
