Make Magic Release Blog Hop

Hi there, crafty friends. I’m excited to be part of THIS blog hop celebrating THIS new release from Simon Says Stamp. This release has some fantastic slimline stencils and I used them to create a few slimline foiled backgrounds…

For the first card…

I applied the Thermoweb Transfer Gel Blanco paste through the Slimline Sun Rays stencil on a yellow slimline panel. After it was dry, I laid gold foil on top and ran it through my laminator. I stamped and colored the images from the Hibiscus Blooms stamp set with Zig Real Brush Markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set in the center of the sun. I added lots of sparkle and shine with a shimmer pen to the flower image.

Here’s a closer look…

For the second card…

I did the same process but applied the paste through the Slimline Organic Dots stencil on a kraft slimline panel. Once dry, I added a champagne color foil on top and added heat with my laminator. I stamped and colored the images from the Cup of Love stamp set and used brown ink for the solid coffee area. I stamped a coordinating sentiment from the same stamp set on a stitched banner. I added glaze on top of the coffee for some shine.

For the last card…

I repeated the process but this time I used the Slimline Floral Builder stencil. I also cut pieces of foil to add color to the flowers. I added raindrops to the background using the Large Raindrop Stencil. I also added the Rainy Days die as well as a printed sentiment strip to finish off the design.

Here’s a closer look…

I hope this inspires you to try adding some foil to your next card.

Don’t have a laminator? No worries. Thermoweb also makes a paste that can add foil with no heat, just the pressure of your die-cutting machine. It’s called Transfer Gel DUO and you can find that HERE.

All of these cards are beautiful, but my favorite is the coffee card. I love how you glazed the coffee to make it look so realistic. And the aqua accents are great. The background looks like coffee beans! So cool!
