New Distress Color: Kitsch Flamingo

Hi, crafty friends. Today’s card features the new Distress color…Kitsch Flamingo.

Whenever I receive a new Distress color, I like to make a bunch of simple backgrounds like this to get to know more about each medium…

Can you guess which medium on used on each?

Here’s the answer key (Note: I spritzed some water on all of them except the spray panels)….

I just love how different they all look! I used the Distress Ink blended panel and blended on some Picked Raspberry on top to go behind the butterfly to draw your eye in. I also added some of THIS splatter for interest. Once it was completely dry, I die-cut it with THIS panel to add some texture with the pierced pattern.

I added a black mat behind it and then adhered it to a pink note card. I die-cut THIS butterfly from the Distress Oxide Spray panel as well as the Distress paint panel. I used the spray panel underneath the paint panel. I applied THIS embossing glaze on top for added shine as well as some glossy accents to the detail parts of the butterfly…

I die-cut the shadow from gold glitter card stock and gold heat embossed THIS sentiment on black card stock. I used the same stamp set to stamp a sub sentiment underneath.

Here’s a closer look…

I just love the pink, black, and gold color combo.

I hope you have enjoyed this look at the new Distress color. Tim has some great information on his blog HERE.

Thank you for stopping by. Happy crafting!
