Background Stamp Candy Bag Toppers

Howdy, crafty friends. I’m back with more inspiration using THIS new release from Simon Says Stamp. I wanted to share a quick and easy project using my favorite background stamp from the release…

I started by heat embossing THIS  background stamp on a piece of white and pink card stock. For the white topper, I inked up the stamp with black pigment ink and added clear embossing powder and heat set. For the pink topper, I inked up the stamp with Versamark clear ink and added gold embossing powder and heat set. The pieces ended up being a bit smaller than 6×6. Next, I scored the piece in half with my teflon bone folder…

I like that with this particular pattern, it reads the same from the back as well. Some patterns may look wonky on the back side because that part will be upside down.

After rounding the bottom corners, I used THIS strong tape to add it to the top of a plastic bag filled with valentine candy. You could also use a stapler to attach the topper.

Here’s a closer look…

I kept these super simple but you could always add a cute critter to the front or add a valentine’s sentiment.

I hope this inspires you to create some candy treat bag toppers using your background stamps.

Those cards are sweet. The candy bag toppers would have made perfect treat bags back in the day when my kiddos were at school. ❤️
