Customizable Card Set + New Release

Howdy, crafty friends. I have a fun card set to share today that features product from THIS new release…

I love giving card sets as gifts and with Christmas just around the corner I decided to make my son’s teacher a card set. Instead of adding the sentiment to each card, I wanted to make it customizable to her needs. I will get to that in a bit but first, let me tell you how I made the card backgrounds…

I started by die-cutting THIS new hearts die twice on a white panel. I cut one towards the top, flipped it upside down and cut one towards the bottom. I also die-cut the die using THIS patterned paper in a rainbow of colors. I added the die-cut heart panel to a white A2 panel that was covered completely with adhesive. This way I could just inlay all of the heart die-cuts. If you don’t have patience for that, you could always just cut strips to go behind the opening. I like to do inlay. It’s like a puzzle and I find it oddly relaxing. LOL

After the hearts were added to the panels, I adhered them to THESE note cards. For the center, I die-cut THIS banner from white card stock and adhered it to the center. This is just a marker for the recipient to know where to place the sentiment banner they choose. Not only does the white banner mark where to put the sentiment but when the sentiment strip is placed on top, it adds dimension.

Here’s an example of what a finished card would like…

For the sentiments, I die-cut sentiments using the same banner die from pre-printed sentiment strip packs (all linked below in the supply list). On the back of the sentiment strips, I applied a strip of THIS tape…

This allows the recipient to choose their sentiment, remove the top liner of adhesive and adhere it down on top of the white banner.

When I give a card set for a gift, I like to place them in one of THESE clear boxes. It makes for a nice presentation and it’s a great spot to put extra goodies in. I add envelopes, a pen, and stamps to mine. Here is a closer look at what I placed inside…

I also printed out some quick directions and added it to the front of the box so the recipient knows what to do and why the cards are blank…

I hope this inspires you to make a customizable card set as a gift. If not, it’s a great idea to make blank cards for yourself and add the sentiment later.

The die I used is part of THIS new release from Simon Says Stamp. I link to the entire release below as well as supplies used on today’s card.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I appreciate your support.
