Hi there, crafty friends. Today’s card features THIS new card kit from Simon Says Stamp…
I started by stamping all of the images from the kit’s stamp set. Since this is a one layer card, I stamped the images that would be in front first. I stamped the pumpkin, the owl and the leaf on the left first. I also stamped them on THIS masking paper and cut them out. I laid the mask on top of those images and stamped the tree trunk, the bear, and the tree next. Again, I stamped and cut masks and placed them on those images as well. Lastly, I repeated the same process for the leaf on the right. After all the images were covered with masks, I applied THIS tape across the lower panel of the card and inked under it with THIS ink and THIS blender brush. I removed the tape and placed it back on the panel under the green line I just created to protect that area for when I applied THIS ink with THIS stencil on the top portion of the card.
Once the masks were removed, I colored in the images with Copic markers. Here’s a closer look…
The kit also comes with beautiful patterned papers. I die-cut one of the plaid patterns with THIS die and adhered it inside one of the kit’s envelopes…
I hope this inspires you to use masking and create a one layer card.
