MISTI & Pinkfresh Blog Hop

Hi there, crafty friends. I’m excited to be part of the MISTI & Pinkfresh Blog Hop. I have two cards to share today plus a MISTI tip.

I created two background panels using blue and purple alcohol inks. After they were completely dry, I die-cut THIS die from both of them. I also cut several from white card stock.

For the first card…

I used the negative pieces to create a background. I adhered one panel vertically and one horizontally to create a grid pattern…

I finished up the design with THESE flowers (more on that later in this post) and a white heat embossed sentiment.

For the second card…

I weaved the strips from the die-cutting in and out of the vertical lines of the die. After I weaved them, I adhered the piece to another white piece to sandwich the strips in place. I love the look of weaving…

I finished the design using THIS die to create a spot for THIS sentiment.

MEMORY MISTI TIP

Before I go, I wanted to share more about the Memory Misti. Not only is it great if you are doing larger projects like scrapbooking, it’s also great for mass producing cards. I used it to create several backgrounds at once…

With the layering flower stamp I used, I was able to create stations that I can rotate the paper to add color to the flowers quickly. Since THIS MISTI is so large I was able to add several more stamps to the door. You can definitely mass produce with the smaller MISTI, but I wanted to demonstrate how the larger one makes it even easier. I used THESE corners to keep the panel in place where there isn’t a square corner like the other side. Worked great and I need to get another pair for the other side…

P.S. I only set up three cards for what I needed, but I laid the finished card in a fourth spot to show you the possibilities.

You are so creative! I love the colors you used AND how you were so patient to weave the paper strips to form the background of the second card. Thanks for the inspiration.
