Hello, crafty friends. Simon Says Stamp has a new release HERE and it is fabulous! I’m sharing a couple of cards today using some of the new goodies…
For both cards, I started by white heat embossing THIS background. This background stamp is unique as it allows you to remove the hexagon from the center of the stamp. I die-cut THIS hexagon die six times from THIS masking paper. I used the masking pieces as stencils to add color to each hexagon. I cut one for each color so the colors would not bleed when switching colors.
For the first card, I used cooler colors….
For the second card, I used warmer colors…
I lined up the opening of the mask on top of one of the hexagons in the background pattern. I added the lightest color of ink over the entire hexagon and then added the darker color only on the bottom for an ombre effect. I finished off the cards with hexagon sentiments from THIS stamp set.
I hope you give this technique a try. You can mask off any shape from a repeating background pattern to quickly add color with ink blending.
Thank you for visiting today. Happy crafting!
