Adding Color Quickly

Hello, crafty friends. I’m sharing a simple sympathy card today with an ink blended background…

I’m not the best at coloring so I’m always looking for ways to add color without coloring individual images. I started by stamping the leaves from THIS stamp set on THIS note card with THIS ink. Whenever I want to fill a background with individual images, I lay as many as I can out on the panel inside my Misti. I usually start in the left hand corner and build from there. I can usually get half of the card fill so I go ahead and stamp those images all at once multiple times on different note cards. I always stamp lots of backgrounds since I took the time to set the stamps up. Once I do that, I take the stamps off and arrange them in the remaining open areas and repeat the process until the entire background is stamped. I also die-cut and stamped the sentiments all at once. I die-cut THIS rectangle die out of THIS cardstock and stamped a sympathy sentiment using THIS stamp set.

I didn’t want to take the time to color all of those leaves so I used THESE blender brushes with a few colors of Distress ink to blend the color over the whole background. I spritzed a bit of THIS for some shine and once dry, I adhered the sentiment panel with THIS foam tape.

I hope this inspires you to build a background from individual images and add color with ink blending.

Thanks for visiting today. I appreciate you spending some time here.
