Howdy, crafty friends. I have two cards to share for the second day of inspiration week using THIS release from Simon Says Stamp …
I started by die-cutting a background I created with THESE alcohol inks with THIS and THIS leaf die. I also cut the die from yellow, orange, and red card stock and layered them under the leaves for dimension. I also like that when you look at the side of the die-cut. you see all of the colors that is in the leaf. For the background, I stamped THIS background stamp on THIS card stock with THIS ink for a tone-on-tone look. I heat embossed the sentiment from THIS stamp set in gold on a dark brown card stock and used THIS coordinating die to cut it out. I added splashes of gold to the background by flicking on water and adding gold embossing powder on top. I also added some of THESE.
I finished off the card by adhering it to a red note card and adding strips of THIS metallic card stock along the borders.
To create that gold shine on the leaves, I applied some of THIS gold foil on top of the alcohol ink. It applies to any sticky areas from the ink.
Here’s a closer look…
I hope this inspires you to try die-cutting from a colorful background.
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day.
