More Inspiration using the Believe in You Release

Hello, crafty friends. I’m back with even more inspiration using the new release from Simon Says Stamp, which you can findĀ HERE. I created a set of birthday cards with THIS new stamp set.

I’m a big fan of watercolor but struggle with it. I love the look of ink smooshing but wanted a more controlled look, so I applied the ink to a small acrylic block. I used a rainbow of Distress mini inks and applied it to the block in stripes and in rainbow order. I used the mini sized ink cubes because it was easier to put the color down on the small block. I spritzed the ink with some water until it started to bead up and placed it in the center of a 4×4 piece of THIS card stock.

The acrylic block shape was a rounded edge rectangle. I wanted a more “messy ” look around the edges so I pressed it down hard to get some of the ink to ooze out the sides. I let the block sit on the paper for a few minutes with other acrylic blocks on top for pressure. I love that every time I created a background, it was different. I also like that it’s a quick and easy backdrop for any stamped image or die-cut. Acrylic blocks come in all shapes and sizes so try different ones for new looks.

I stamped each card with an image and sentiment from THIS new stamp set (a new favorite of mine).

I added THIS and THIS to the stamped images for some shine.

I adhered the panels to 4.25 x 4.25 black note cards.

That’s all for today. Thank you so much for stopping by.
