Mermaid Card

Howdy, crafty friends. I know it is almost December but I am missing the beach terribly. I’m not a fan of the cold weather so I thought I would share this card and daydream I’m at the beach. Who’s with me!?

How cute is that mermaid!? I stamped, colored, and die-cut her out from THIS stamp set and THIS coordinating die. I used THESE to color her in and added lots of shimmer with THIS. The white border seemed a bit distracting so I colored it blue to blend in with the background. Speaking of the background, I applied THIS alcohol ink to a piece of THIS Yupo paper. Once it was dry, I stamped the cluster of fish from the same stamp set using THIS ink. It pulls the alcohol ink up and gives a cool ghost like look that doesn’t distract too much from the main image.

I didn’t want the ink that was lifted off to go to waste, so I used it to stamp on THIS envelope flap to tie everything together…

I stamped a coordinating sentiment from the stamp set in the corner and adhered the mermaid using one of THESE wobblers to add some movement. I die-cut the background using THIS die and adhered it to a white note card. I finished off the card with a sprinkling of THESE sequins.

Here’s a closer look…

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope your day is full of sunshine.

Don’t forget you still have time to shop during the sale…
