Hello, crafty friends. I’m back today with a larger size card that I’ve really enjoyed making lately…
I have a lot of backgrounds that I create when I’m just experimenting. I usually die-cut from them or use portions on a new project. However, this particular background was created with alcohol inks and yupo paper. I really liked how it turned out and wanted to keep the entire piece for a card background. So I adhered it to a 5×7 card created from THIS card stock (I’m loving this 12×12 heavy weight card stock).
I heat embossed gold leaves from THIS stamp set and a sentiment from THIS stamp set. I wanted to keep the focus on the background so I added the leaves and sentiment on a vellum circle cut with THIS die. I finished off the card with a few of THESE sequins.
A closer look…
One tip I want to share is THIS tool works great to move the alcohol ink after applying it. It also helps blending between colors.
I hope this inspires you to create a larger card and showcase a background.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day.
